The Stroud Water Research Center, a multidisciplinary freshwater research organization, faced the challenge of managing and maximizing the value of an enormous amount of high-frequency hydrological data collected from multiple sources over long periods of time. Their goal was to ensure quality assurance and control for easy access and analysis to support their research on watershed health.

Aquatic Informatics provided its Aquarius software to manage and analyze this scientific data. The solution enabled researchers to perform quality control, error detection, and automatic bias corrections, and to configure alerts for unusual events. Using Aquarius, the Stroud Center gained unprecedented insights, such as discovering how road salt moves through watersheds, which allows communities to advocate for change. Aquatic Informatics also supported the Center through a software grant, enabling them to use new tools to further enhance their research, education, and watershed restoration efforts.
