Storage Guardian is a private company that provides pay-as-you-go off-site backup services for small, mid-size and enterprise customers in regulated industries. Facing rapid growth, regulatory retention requirements and the choice of managing costly infrastructure versus focusing on its core managed-services business, Storage Guardian engaged Aptum for Connectivity and Colocation to move from a self-hosted model to a hosted, tier‑1 data center approach.

Aptum delivered colocation and fiber connectivity at its Pullman and Montreal data centers, collaborating on architecture and migration; the implementation ramped up in five business days and the initial data migration completed in about six months. As a result, Storage Guardian now transfers roughly 2 Gbps over Aptum fiber to some 250,000 endpoints nightly, doubled its Pullman footprint from four to eight cabinets and added a Montreal cabinet within six months, and continues to expand its hybrid environment while relying on Aptum as a trusted partner.
