A Aptean Case Study
Johnny Was, an L.A.-based boho‑chic apparel and accessories brand selling through some 1,500 specialty retailers plus its own stores, e‑commerce site and catalog, was rapidly expanding omnichannel. The company struggled with manual quarterly counts, limited visibility into inventory—especially undyed garments sent to local dyeing and finishing contractors—and needed to automate operations to meet growing demand without dramatically increasing headcount.
In January 2017 Johnny Was deployed Aptean Apparel ERP RLM Edition to centralize wholesale operations, inventory, production and financials. The system lets teams create POs and production/inbound shipments, track undyed-to-dyed workflows with automatic inventory adjustments and full audit trails, and integrates with parcel carriers, factoring partners and wholesale marketplaces—delivering much better visibility, efficiency, invoicing and shipping processes and enabling scalable omnichannel fulfillment without adding staff.
