Improves productivity and reduces costs with Aptean Routing & Scheduling

Al Khayyat Investments (AKI Group) is a Dubai‑based, family‑owned conglomerate with $1.6 billion in revenue that runs a large in‑house transportation operation serving retail, pharmaceutical and other businesses across the UAE’s seven emirates. Handling roughly 25,000 orders (about 12,500 deliveries) a month to some 5,500 sites, the logistics team was relying on manual multi‑drop planning and facing inefficiencies, regulatory vehicle restrictions and difficulty managing peak delivery periods.

AKI implemented Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition, including Street Level Mapping, Average Road Speed data and Aptean Route Execution for real‑time visibility, to automate planning and enforce vehicle restrictions. The result: annual transportation savings of more than $1 million, a 164% increase in average deliveries per vehicle (from 4.7 to 12.4), a 38% smaller fleet (84 to 52 vehicles), and a 65% reduction in average cost per delivery, plus centralized planning and better peak‑volume management.
