A Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition Case Study

Preview of the LF&E Refrigerated Transport Case Study

LF&E uses Paragon to meet the transport demands of heavily-regulated pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors

LF&E Refrigerated Transport, a UK temperature‑controlled logistics specialist serving pharmaceutical, medical and clinical trial customers, needed to meet strict regulatory delivery windows, prove on‑time performance for high‑value, time‑sensitive consignments and maximise utilisation of its refrigerated van fleet. To address these challenges the company selected Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition, deploying Paragon routing and scheduling tools (including Single Depot and later Multi Depot Routing and Scheduling with Street Level Mapping) to create accurate, flexible daily plans and modelling.

Using Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition, LF&E implemented route optimisation, business modelling and multi‑depot planning to improve communications and operational efficiency; the result was a 98.9% first‑time delivery success rate for around 1,500 weekly consignments, identified an 800‑mile‑a‑day route saving for a new Northampton depot, and better fleet/driver utilisation and customer notifications. The Paragon solution also supported LF&E’s upgrade to Multi Depot, enabling nationwide growth while controlling costs and meeting GDP/GCP standards.
