KN Drinks Logistics Rolls out Paragon Software

Kuehne + Nagel, through its KN Drinks Logistics business, faced a complex national beverage distribution challenge: 6,000 orders per day across 20 DCs to 30,000+ customers, five vehicle types, mixed crew sizes, tight delivery windows and restricted access. To improve radial distribution planning and operational efficiency, the company piloted and rolled out Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition’s enhanced routing and scheduling optimization solution.

Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition refined its scheduling algorithms and added planner controls (including truck sequencing and an enhanced “Trip Improver”), then rolled the solution across the network; early results include a 60% cut in daily planning time (from up to 5 hours to ~2 hours), reduced kilometres per tonne and average distance traveled, fewer truck movements and a smaller carbon footprint, while freeing planners to run more what‑if analysis and drive further efficiencies.
