ASDA, a top UK retailer and part of the Wal‑Mart group, needed to cut the rising cost of transporting goods to stores and make better use of its fleet and drivers. To address this challenge it turned to Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition, using Paragon’s map‑based transport optimisation and Multi Depot planning capabilities to model routes and improve operational efficiency across its network.

Aptean Routing & Scheduling Paragon Edition implemented Multi Depot route planning across ASDA’s 22 depots to better utilize more than 1,000 tractor units and 1,600 trailers, reducing road miles and fuel use. The Paragon solution is forecast to deliver 5–10% savings on fleet transport costs, lower vehicle emissions, and free up capital and driver time so ASDA can reinvest savings to reduce prices for customers.
