RB Royal Industries, Inc., a 70+ year designer and manufacturer of fluid transfer components for OEMs worldwide, needed to optimize purchasing and inventory to ensure on-time delivery, low stockouts and efficient administration. To address this, they adopted Kanban alongside VMI, MRP and reorder-point controls using Aptean CRM’s inventory and Kanban-enabled solution.
Aptean CRM implemented an automated purchasing Kanban process where a two-digit bin entry triggers a release to a blanket PO, sends the order to vendors, matches acknowledgements, and updates receipts, inventory and inspection status automatically. The result: overall inventory turns rose from 6 to 9.5, Kanban-item turns improved from 10 to 35, stockouts dropped substantially, lead times shortened and purchasing administrative work was greatly reduced.
