Wiley, during its largest restructuring to date, needed a partner to manage production editing for its journals with the flexibility to work onshore or offshore depending on each title’s requirements. The challenge was to quickly scale trusted, consistent PE services while meeting Wiley’s quality standards and cost-reduction goals.

Aptara became the partner, recruiting skilled onshore and offshore production editors and building PE delivery management teams whose leads were trained by Wiley. Aptara transitioned 20 journals offshore in 2013 and 86 more across onshore and offshore locations in 2014, cutting Wiley’s internal costs, strengthening its competitive position, and preparing more than 40 additional journals for upcoming transitions.
