Cambridge University Press - Customer Case Study

Cambridge University Press, the world’s oldest academic publisher, needed to promote the Cambridge Library Collection—nearly 2,500 titles covering everything from Shakespeare and travel memoirs to mathematics, science, and works in Latin and Classical Greek. The wide subject range and occasional need for deep scholarly research made it difficult to produce the concise, compelling copy required for book jackets, Cambridge’s website, and major retail sites so the eBooks would be discoverable online.

Aptara’s literary subject-matter experts and editors read excerpts from hundreds of works and produced a one-line description, a 50-word website/ad summary, and a 150-word scholarly overview for each title. This work let Cambridge focus on launching the collection, led to additional title awards for Aptara, and made the project publicly available at http://www.cambridge.org/clc.
