A APS Payroll Case Study
Rainbow Sandals, a San Clemente maker of handcrafted, long-lasting sandals, grew rapidly to more than 60 employees and needed more structure in HR and payroll. The company was frustrated with a large national payroll provider because of rising costs, poor customer service and paperless implementation problems, so management set four goals: an integrated payroll/HR/time & attendance system with strong reporting, lower costs and better service, compatibility with existing biometric clocks, and online transparency for employees.
In January 2011 Rainbow Sandals switched to APS’s online payroll, HR and time & attendance platform. APS tested and supported the existing biometric clocks, delivered the required reporting and remote access, improved customer service, and saved the company thousands of dollars in fees. Employees gained self-service access to clock-ins, PTO accruals, benefits and W‑2s, and payroll can now be run from any location for greater business continuity.
