How INAIL Uses Process Mining as a Strategic Guide for Digital Transformation

INAIL, Italy’s National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work, needed a better way to modernize its old, complex, and highly varied processes across 10,000+ employees and more than 350 core business processes. Working with Apromore and management consultants HSPI, INAIL used process mining to build an accurate picture of its operations, starting with IT processes, and to create a governance framework for incremental digital transformation.

Using Apromore’s process mining platform for automated discovery, performance analysis, rework and bottleneck analysis, and variant analysis, INAIL identified non-compliant purchase cases, improved end-to-end visibility, and found opportunities to streamline procure-to-pay. Apromore helped INAIL reduce waiting times, eliminate non-compliant cases, achieve major time savings, and establish real-time monitoring through a Process Control Room, while also laying the groundwork for RPA and deeper integration with its data lake and PowerBI dashboards.
