Fractalia, an R&D company that provides PC management platforms to service providers and telcos, needed to ensure uninterrupted operation of public kiosks deployed across airports, malls and libraries. Lacking in-house expertise for low-level disk work, driver and bootloader development, Fractalia outsourced the development of a stand-alone system rollback application to Apriorit to enable automatic restoration to a known-good disk image after crashes.

Apriorit assembled a development and research team and delivered a prototype in about six months built around a three-component architecture (custom boot loader, disk driver and user interface). Apriorit overcame hardware-level debugging and BIOS-compatibility challenges, the prototype passed acceptance testing, shortened kiosk downtime, made the international kiosk network more fail-safe, enabled Fractalia to report progress and secure funding for next stages, and launched a long-term partnership between Fractalia and Apriorit.
