Nidwaldner Kantonalbank Strengthens its Client Focus with Appway

Nidwaldner Kantonalbank (NKB) wanted to keep its client service “simple, uncomplicated and fast,” but increasingly complex regulatory requirements and a fragmented backend IT landscape made manual onboarding cumbersome for its 50 client advisors. Repeated data entry across siloed systems created errors and slowed account opening, especially in complex cases. NKB chose Appway’s platform to digitize customer onboarding and connect its existing systems.

Appway implemented a phased onboarding solution with GFT Switzerland, starting with private clients and designed to accommodate future regulatory changes with minimal effort. The new workflow defines process steps, required data, and documents, while the Finnova interface enables automatic data exchange between the front end and core banking system. As a result, onboarding became significantly easier for advisors, account opening was accelerated for clients, and NKB gained a flexible foundation to automate additional processes in the future.
