Using Apptio Targetprocess Automated Rules in Wargaming

Apptio’s EPMO worked with four distributed game-development teams (about 1,000 people) that faced performance bottlenecks and highly customized processes created by relying on webhooks and metrics. Their goals were to optimize performance, automate actions directly on database data, streamline work across large, remote teams, and save time — challenges made harder by each team’s unique requirements.

They switched to Apptio Targetprocess Automation Rules, a solution the EPMO called surprisingly customizable and flexible, to replace webhooks and manual workflows. Automations were implemented successfully and continue to be added daily, enabling a large 2020 planning event across four remote locations, improving cross-team collaboration, and driving adoption of the Automation Rules Engine by additional game teams.
