Agora Roermond, an experimental high school in the Netherlands, sought to break from traditional education by creating a unique, self-directed learning path for each of its over 120 students. The challenge was to manage and visualize this highly customized educational journey, moving away from a standard curriculum to a model driven by student curiosity. To achieve this, the school implemented Apptio Targetprocess software to bring Agile principles into the classroom.

The solution involved customizing Apptio Targetprocess to mirror the school's philosophy, renaming features to "Challenges" and user stories to "Phases." Students used the platform as a digital journal to document their progress, while coaches and administrators used its visualization and reporting tools to monitor development and share progress with parents. The results were transformative: students became highly engaged, self-motivated learners, with some even choosing to continue their research during school vacations. The platform provided a measurable impact with over 160 users, 6,500+ entities, and 230 views, creating a visible, reflective record of learning that integrated education seamlessly into the students' lives.
