Finning, the global Caterpillar dealer with more than 13,000 employees across three geographies, needed to replace a fragmented intranet environment made up of one global intranet, three regional intranets, and more than 700 outdated SharePoint sites. The company wanted a single, modern employee experience that would improve communication, collaboration, and accessibility across a diverse, often remote workforce. Appspace, through its Beezy-powered modern intranet, was selected to help unify the experience.
Appspace implemented Traction, a centralized intranet built on Beezy and integrated with existing tools like SharePoint, Workday, and ServiceNow. The new platform gave Finning targeted communications, social-style engagement, and customized widgets, while also reducing email overload and consolidating Yammer communities. Within three months of launch, Traction was attracting nearly 8,000 unique visitors per day, and it proved especially valuable during COVID-19 by enabling fast, consistent global and regional updates.
