Costco Wholesale, one of the world’s largest retailers, needed a better way to communicate with its growing, primarily deskless workforce while maintaining its strong company culture during rapid expansion. Existing communication methods were at risk of breaking down as the company scaled, so Costco looked for a more timely, consistent, and cost-effective solution. Vendor Appspace was selected for its workplace platform and digital signage capabilities.

Appspace implemented digital signage with ChromeOS across Costco’s U.S. locations, primarily in breakrooms and also at corporate and regional offices, to deliver company news, policy updates, career information, and executive messages. With Appspace’s support, Costco accelerated the rollout to all U.S. stores in just weeks, reaching more than 2,000 ChromeOS devices across nearly 600 locations in about two months. The solution improved frontline employee communications and helped Costco continue strengthening its workplace culture during a major period of growth.
