The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) needed a more user-friendly digital signage system to improve student communications and engagement, strengthen ties with local residents, and replace an outdated platform that was difficult to use. The legacy system often took up to 24 steps for simple updates and sometimes required USB drives, leading to stale content and communication gaps across campus.

Appspace provided a flexible, centralized digital signage solution with customizable templates and easy integration with UNC’s existing systems, including a near-real-time connection to 25Live for class schedules and event information. As a result, UNC expanded from a single primary user to 72 digital signs across campus, improved content freshness and visibility, and gained a scalable platform that saved resources and is now being considered for wayfinding.
