F22 Labs saves $1,200 a month by developing custom extensions to their project management platform in Appsmith

F22 Labs, a product design and development studio, needed a better way to manage resources across multiple projects without paying for expensive project management software tiers. Their team had tried several tools, including ClickUp, but struggled with high seat-based pricing, limited reporting, and the need for detailed cross-project visibility.

To solve this, F22 Labs used Appsmith with the open-source project management platform Plane to build custom analytics dashboards and interfaces on top of their existing data. With Appsmith, they created a dashboard in about a day that gave project managers a real-time view of task status, bandwidth, estimated vs. actual hours, and project allocations. The result was an estimated 5–10 hours saved per week for project managers and nearly $1,200 in monthly software savings, while also improving team visibility and pricing decisions.
