State of North Dakota Improves Peoplesoft Visibility & Access Controls With Appsian’s Application Security Platform

The State of North Dakota, a public sector organization with over 70 agencies, needed to strengthen security across its PeopleSoft HCM, Financials, and Enterprise Learning Management systems. The state wanted better protection for sensitive employee and third-party data, more granular visibility into user activity, and tighter control over access to sensitive transactions beyond what PeopleSoft provided natively. Appsian’s Application Security Platform was selected to help address these gaps.

Appsian implemented field-level data masking, click-to-view controls for privileged users, location-based security, dynamic MFA challenges using SafeNet, and enhanced transaction-level logging. As a result, the State of North Dakota improved protection for payroll and banking data, reduced the risk of payroll diversion, and gained much better visibility for auditing and suspicious-activity investigations. Appsian’s solution also improved security for both employees and third-party suppliers.
