Hackensack Meridian Health, a large nonprofit healthcare network in New Jersey serving 33,000+ team members across 16 hospitals and 450+ medical centers, needed to roll out secure remote access for PeopleSoft HCM while supporting Fluid UI for Benefits/Open Enrollment and Employee and Leader Self-Service. The challenge was adding SAML-based SSO and 2-factor authentication without native support in PeopleSoft, while also reducing the risk of exposing sensitive systems to the public internet.

Appsian’s Application Security Platform (ASP) enabled Hackensack Meridian Health to integrate Duo Security’s SAML-based SSO and MFA with PeopleSoft, restrict remote access to self-service only, and limit local and high-privilege accounts to the secure internal network. As a result, Appsian helped HMH secure PeopleSoft self-service access for thousands of employees on any device, improve identity management, and strengthen protection for sensitive data without sacrificing usability.
