‘Appsian-Enabled’ Mobilized Information System Gets an A+ from Students

The University of Waterloo, one of Canada’s top innovation universities, needed to modernize its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student information system so it would work well on mobile devices. Students found the existing interface clunky and hard to use on phones, and the university also wanted stronger security, better usability, and a branded experience. Appsian’s PeopleUX was selected to help deliver a mobile-friendly, browser-based solution.

Appsian implemented PeopleUX to mobilize nearly 90 PeopleSoft pages without requiring new infrastructure or major customizations, enabling secure access for students, applicants, and staff on a range of devices. The rollout was completed in 6 months and gave users mobile access to features like course changes, schedules, grades, document uploads, and application status. The new Waterloo-branded interface was well received, improving convenience and engagement while meeting the university’s security and usability goals.
