Thrive Learning and Development, founded by Elan Bailey, needed a way to help clients bridge the gap between potential and performance by tracking goals, commitments and learning insights. Elan envisioned a coaching-friendly journaling app but lacked coding skills and faced the high cost of hiring a developer, while traditional coaching programs remained too expensive to scale beyond a select group of “high potential” employees.

Using AppSheet, Elan built the Thrive app herself in about two weeks with occasional support, enabling clients to record stretch goals, track progress in real time, and share updates directly with their coach. Eighteen months on, the app powers her business—making coaching more efficient and affordable, expanding development access across teams, and demonstrating a scalable, low-cost way for small businesses to create custom apps without outside developers.
