TARMAC Taps AppSheet for a Different Kind of Construction – App Creation

TARMAC, the UK’s largest building materials supplier with a century-long history and thousands of employees and sites, needed a better way for newly created site technicians to record on-site audits of materials and contractor workmanship. The team originally used paper forms (later re-entered digitally) and found tools like Google Forms unsuitable because many remote sites lacked reliable connectivity.

TARMAC moved the audits and other workflows to AppSheet, creating offline-capable mobile apps that sync to Google Sheets, capture GPS coordinates, attach photos, and auto-report results to stakeholders. About 20 users now enter data daily and TARMAC has expanded to apps for complaints, cost estimation, and performance tracking—speeding data capture, improving evidence-based decision-making, and enabling rapid field-driven app improvements.
