Hodge is a family-owned logistics and material-handling company founded in 1958 that operates four Midwest warehouse sites totaling over 1 million sq ft and about 475 warehouse employees managing $100M in inventory and equipment. Facing manual, paper-based processes that caused slow data collection, errors, and operational bottlenecks, Quality Assurance Director Matt Hodge set out to modernize the company’s supply chain and warehouse management systems.

Hodge adopted AppSheet’s no-code platform, growing from one app in 2016 to 23 apps by 2019 for tasks like damage documentation, inventory, audits, yard management and equipment inspections (including Raspberry Pi kiosks). The apps added barcode scanning, digital truck sequencing, and automated workflows, resulting in faster, more accurate data entry, smoother truck operations, improved communication, and a culture of rapid, team-driven continuous improvement with employees becoming citizen developers.
