Choosing AppSheet Adds Up for Accountant Training Firm

Accounting Professional Training (APT is South Africa’s leading preparer of students for the SAICA Chartered Accountant exams, running courses for more than 2,000 students annually across South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Faced with a paper-based grading process that relied on couriers and 50–100 dispersed graders — causing errors, long delays and costly reconciliation — APT needed to digitize and mobilize grading and feedback.

APT adopted AppSheet on top of Google Sheets to build two apps: a Grader App that streamlines marking, enforces grader benchmarks and provides live analytics on consistency and question performance, and a Student App that delivers keyed feedback, grades and summaries directly to learners. The move eliminated much of the manual error and courier logistics, sped up feedback, and — after AppSheet added a Worksheet Bulk Read feature to handle large datasets — now supports thousands of simultaneous student users (about 2,400), enabling faster, more accurate results and actionable insights.
