Chicago Beer Club - Customer Case Study

Chicago Beer Club, founded by Phil Renda, grew from informal tastings into a data-heavy hobbyist organization where irregular attendance and a flat monthly-fee model made bookkeeping and fair cost-sharing difficult. Tracking who drank what, managing dues, and accommodating guests became a time-consuming headache.

Renda built a custom AppSheet mobile app to record beers, track individual consumption, allocate costs, manage member credits, and add guests a la carte, with integration to Untappd for sharing and reviews. The result: simpler accounting, fairer payments, greater flexibility for members to use credits or bring guests, and smoother club operations.
