Calvary Community Church - Customer Case Study

Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village runs an annual Serve Day—partnering with local groups to deliver home repairs, visits, meals and other services—but coordinating 60+ projects and more than 1,000 volunteers had become cumbersome. The church’s previous database was too complex and costly, so the Serve Day Administration Team needed a simple, flexible tool that nontechnical users could deploy and maintain quickly.

Volunteer Cindy Carter built a suite of AppSheet apps (project lists, Send-off rally, registrations, photo assignments and reporting) using linked datasets, filters, login-based access and whitelists. The apps sped registration and assignment, improved communications and on-demand reporting, reduced maintenance effort, and made onboarding new team members easy—freeing the team to focus on serving more people and scaling Serve Day in future years.
