Logistic service provider keeps applications on the right track

Vos Logistics, a major European logistics provider with about 5,000 employees, 3,000 trucks and 30 offices, had centralized its applications on Citrix servers but began suffering from unresponsive applications, frozen sessions and 100% server CPU loads. The company’s critical in-house transport application, Lovos, wasn’t terminal-server aware and would force server reboots; meanwhile IT had to standardize desktops and apps, preserve a personal user experience, and troubleshoot issues with only two administrators.

Vos deployed AppSense Management Suite including AppSense Performance Manager to control runaway processes, manage user environments and stream applications. The result: Lovos no longer requires server reboots, CPU usage is constrained, desktops and printers are standardized and secure across locations, rollback of settings reduces support costs, the XenApp farm was consolidated, and the solution paid back within months while becoming a strategic part of their infrastructure.
