Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), a multi-campus institution in Metro Vancouver serving over 17,500 students, faced rising costs and management complexity from an aging PC estate. Users’ personalization and policies were tied to single local machines, making cross-campus use and device flexibility difficult, while application restriction and license management were inefficient and resource-intensive.

KPU deployed a Citrix XenApp virtual desktop environment combined with AppSense DesktopNow (Environment Manager, Application Manager and Performance Manager) to centralize user management and control application access and performance.
