A AppSee Case Study
Simprints is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that builds open-source fingerprint biometric systems to identify people in the developing world—1.5 billion of whom lack formal ID—enabling better delivery and monitoring of health and aid services. Their app, integrated with major mobile health platforms and custom fingerprint hardware, is used in remote deployments (e.g., Nepal and Bangladesh) to support tens of thousands of beneficiaries, but field staff couldn’t reliably describe or reproduce complex UX issues and crashes across varied devices and OS versions.
By adopting Appsee’s mobile analytics—session replays, touch heatmaps and crash recordings—Simprints could watch real user interactions in the field, reproduce and fix bugs tied to software and hardware integration, and iterate the UX rapidly. The result was pivotal real-time feedback and diagnostics that allowed the team to pinpoint root causes and completely eliminate crashes on their production app.
