RISO Transforms IT by Migrating Their Data Center to the Cloud

RISO, a global manufacturer of printers and digital copiers, needed to cut IT costs and improve agility while managing outdated infrastructure, high maintenance expenses, and too many vendors across multiple locations. Apps Associates helped RISO address these challenges by planning a migration from its on-premises data center to Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Oracle EBS, OBIEE, SQL Server, Active Directory, and backup operations in the cloud.

Apps Associates implemented a cloud platform on AWS with VPC, EC2, EBS, VPN connectivity, and cloud-based disaster recovery using Amazon S3, Glacier, and Zmanda, completing the migration in six months. The result was a 55% reduction in total IT operational costs, a 35% reduction in backup infrastructure costs, and a drop in IT vendors from 6 to 3, while improving scalability and business continuity.
