From Acquisition to a Smooth Transition Viant Completes AWS Migration in Under 48 Hours with Apps Associates

Viant, a global medical device manufacturing partner, needed to separate and migrate the acquired AS&O business’s Oracle-based applications into its own environment after the acquisition of Integer Holdings’ AS&O unit. Because Viant did not have an Oracle platform in place, it turned to Apps Associates for help with an AWS-based migration and managed services support to keep the transition smooth and avoid business disruption.

Apps Associates designed a non-standard AWS migration approach using Amazon Machine Instances and backup snapshots to clone and move the data in one weekend. The team completed the cutover in under 48 hours, reduced the purge window from 63 hours to 32, and helped Viant resume business as usual by Monday with improved performance, better resource utilization, and full control of its new environment.
