Apps Associates Helps Munchkin Improve Flexibility by Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite and Hyperion to Amazon Web Services

Munchkin, a manufacturer and distributor of infant and toddler products, needed a more flexible and scalable IT environment for its mission-critical Oracle E-Business Suite and Hyperion systems. Its existing hosted infrastructure was costly and inflexible, making it hard to maintain service levels and support growth. Munchkin worked with Apps Associates on an AWS proof of concept and then selected Apps Associates to help plan and execute the migration to the cloud.

Apps Associates migrated 2 TB of Oracle EBS and Hyperion data to Amazon Web Services, using services such as EC2, EBS, and VPC, along with backup and disaster recovery capabilities. The project was completed in six weeks instead of the planned 12, and the migration itself took less than two days with very limited downtime. As a result, Munchkin gained faster scaling, the ability to quickly create or shut down environments, lower wasted infrastructure costs, and far greater operational flexibility.
