NASA schedules Lunar Gateway robot dashboards for 2026 with AppRocket

NASA faced the challenge of controlling lunar robots without a real-time uplink due to extreme latency and bandwidth constraints. They needed a sophisticated interface to issue high-level commands for autonomous execution. AppRocket was engaged for custom AI and machine learning development to solve this.

AppRocket built a dashboard that visualizes the robot's environment and allows operators to issue high-level commands. The robot then autonomously parses and executes these tasks, confirming completion without a continuous uplink. The solution was formally endorsed by NASA and its subcontractors and is scheduled for integration into the Lunar Gateway for the 2026 Artemis Moon mission.
