Animoca Brands, the mobile game publisher behind Crazy Kings, wanted a better way to monetize its popular tower defense title with interactive ads that fit the gameplay experience. It partnered with AppOnboard and its Full-Fidelity Demos product to test a high-quality playable format that could drive revenue without disrupting the player experience.

AppOnboard and Animoca Brands moved the demos from a standard rewarded video waterfall into a dedicated, contextual “Rewarded Demo” zone inside the Crazy Kings shop. This change increased demo install rates by 7.9x versus the previous rewarded video setup and lifted publisher eCPM by 2.6x, while also delivering strong engagement metrics including a 38.9% higher completion rate, 6.8x higher clickthrough rate, and 12.2% higher install rate versus mobile display networks.
