Upstream Operator completes RCM analysis of 3,244 equipment tags with Applus+

An upstream operator contracted Applus+ Velosi to improve the reliability and maintenance effectiveness of its offshore facilities, including power and desalination plants. The challenge was to evaluate and enhance the client's maintenance strategies and integrate them with their SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) system to ensure operational integrity.

Applus+ implemented a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach, which included conducting detailed Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for 3,244 equipment tags and developing reliability models. This process led to the creation of comprehensive preventive maintenance routines (PMRs), task lists, and a failure catalog. As a result, Applus+ identified high-risk equipment and provided actionable recommendations, which were so successful that the client awarded them additional work to analyze their remaining facilities.
