Energy Transfer, a major pipeline operator, faced the challenge of inspecting the girth welds on its massive, 713-mile Rover natural gas pipeline, which traversed difficult and varied terrain. Applus+, through its JANX brand, was selected as the sole supplier to provide the complete non-destructive testing (NDT) scope for this large-scale project.

Applus+ deployed its proprietary automated ultrasonic testing system, Rotoscan, along with conventional gamma x-ray inspections, to efficiently assess weld integrity. The vendor's highly skilled team of 100 employees overcame accessibility challenges, working over 200,000 hours to complete the inspection.
