El Dorado International Airport faced the challenge of managing the environmental impact of its high volume of daily operations, particularly noise pollution affecting neighboring communities. It lacked an effective system to monitor and control this impact in accordance with international standards. To address this, the airport engaged vendor Applus+ to implement an Aeronautical Environmental Monitoring Center (CMAA).
Applus+ implemented a comprehensive solution featuring 28 noise monitoring stations, four air quality stations, and real-time data platforms. This system enabled the airport to extend its operating hours, reduce its 65 dBA noise contour by 16.8%, and implement optimized flight procedures.
