BNz secures €680M solar portfolio financing with Applus+

Applus+, through its Enertis Applus+ service, provided technical advisory services to bnz for its first multi-country Total IPP Financing (TIPPF) of a large solar PV portfolio. The challenge for this customer was to secure financing for over 1.7 GW of solar photovoltaic energy projects across Spain, Italy, and Portugal, requiring a robust technical due diligence to assure lenders of the projects' viability.

Applus+ conducted a comprehensive technical due diligence, assessing site characteristics, design, equipment, and energy production estimates to ensure compliance and identify potential risks. This technical advisory support was crucial in securing a senior debt facility from a club of lenders and a Holdco financing facility, resulting in a total financing package of over €680 million. The work performed by Applus+ enabled the customer to complete one of the largest financings in the European renewable energy market.
