a major airport airport fuel terminal identifies 4 major hazards and 30 medium and low risks with Applus+

The Company, a major airport, faced the challenge of safely expanding its jet fuel storage and fuelling facilities to meet increasing aviation traffic demands. They commissioned vendor Applus+ Velosi to conduct a comprehensive Phase II Health, Safety and Environmental Impact Assessment (HSEIA) for the project's EPC phase.

Applus+ Velosi implemented a detailed HSEIA study, which included reviewing the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System, conducting an Occupational Health Risk Assessment, a Quantitative Risk Assessment, and updating the Emergency Response Plan. The study identified four major accident hazards and 30 medium and low risk hazards, providing appropriate recommendations for their management. Applus+ validated that ambient air quality standards were not exceeded and found noise levels to be well below allowable limits, ensuring the project's risks were reduced to acceptable and ALARP levels.
