A Applitools Case Study
WalkMe, a leading guidance and engagement platform, faced significant challenges with its in-house visual UI testing tool. Their proprietary screenshot comparison tool was brittle, generating numerous false negatives and requiring heavy maintenance. This, combined with the time-consuming nature of manual testing, made it difficult to ensure a flawless user experience across their complex multi-browser and OS ecosystem. To address this, they turned to the vendor Applitools for its Applitools Eyes automated visual testing solution.
Applitools implemented its Eyes product, which uses a unique algorithm that mimics human vision. The solution was integrated quickly with WalkMe's existing Selenium and TeamCity infrastructure. The results were substantial: WalkMe now saves an average of four working days per month on regression cycles, improved test coverage from 3 to 10 browsers, and caught over 20% more UI bugs pre-release. Applitools' cloud-based dashboard also transformed cross-department collaboration, drastically cutting down the time spent diagnosing and communicating issues.
