Applied’s Simulation Powers Autonomous Transportation for Those Who Need It Most

Voyage, an autonomous vehicle startup in Silicon Valley, is building transportation services for retirement communities and needed a faster, safer way to develop and validate its self-driving software. To do that, Voyage worked with Applied Intuition and AWS, using Applied’s simulation and analytics platform to support its AV development lifecycle.

With Applied Intuition’s modular simulation toolchain deployed on AWS, Voyage can generate thousands of driving scenarios, run large-scale tests on EC2, collaborate with the visualizer, and block problematic code changes through CI checks. The result was a 25% faster AV development cycle and a reduction in expensive on-road testing, helping Voyage scale from a 4,000-resident community in San Jose to a 125,000-resident retirement city in Florida in less than two years.
