The customer, Groups AG, which operates the Groups.swiss platform, faced the challenge of expanding its group booking service beyond Switzerland into other European countries. They needed to add individual bookings, integrate a modern payment gateway for European users, and ensure accurate VAT validation. They partnered with the vendor Applandeo to upgrade their software to meet these goals.

Applandeo implemented a solution using Agile methodology, integrating the Stripe payment system and VIES for VAT validation. This created a separate transaction flow for Europe while preserving the original Swiss system. The results included new revenue opportunities from individual bookings, secure and smooth payment transactions across the EU, and instant TAX ID verification to prevent fraud. The expansion was successfully achieved without disrupting existing Swiss operations.
