Delfland Waterboard needed a way to provide a consistent, comprehensive workspace across multiple device types and locations for users in the office, in the field, at home, and in shared environments. The IT team was managing a complex mix of legacy applications, fat clients, laptops, and Citrix sessions, and the existing Citrix environment had become too complex and outdated to meet their requirements. Appixoft’s Scense Workspace Management was used to address these challenges.

Appixoft implemented Scense to centrally manage applications, personalization, and desktop configurations across physical and virtual desktops, including support for persistent and non-persistent VDI templates. The result was simplified image management, no need for application repackaging, and a seamless move to virtual desktops with existing application delivery preserved, including support for Symantec SWV. Appixoft also cites measurable VDI benefits such as up to 75% lower storage costs, €800 annual savings per application delivery, at least €25 saved per PC on imaging, and 50% lower P2V migration costs and throughput time.
