A Appian Case Study
The University of South Florida, a high‑impact research system serving nearly 48,000 students, set out to modernize and fully mobilize the student experience. USF IT was managing an increasing number of applications whose maintenance was crowding out new development; although teams used Agile methods, they needed a low‑code platform to speed delivery of student‑facing services.
Using Appian Cloud, USF built Archivum—a low‑code, mobile‑first program piloted in the College of Public Health—to put course planning and the student–advisor relationship into students’ hands. Deployed in three weeks, Archivum reduced a two‑week registration and advising process to two days and has since been expanded across the university to streamline course records, medical student lotteries, travel, HR onboarding, and other workflows.
