Recordati, founded in 1926, is a global pharmaceutical group with a portfolio spanning general practitioner specialties and treatments for rare diseases. Rapid international growth prompted the company to better understand and develop its “human capital,” so in 2015–2016 Recordati launched a competency assessment project across Italy and its foreign subsidiaries to identify, measure and spread the skills needed for future success.

To run the assessments, Recordati implemented a cloud platform (Appian) to standardize the process internationally, support multi‑assessor evaluations and simplify use. The application manages annual assessment cycles for about 250 senior managers, accelerates the process, delivers consolidated HR reporting and can be extended to the wider organization.
