Punch Taverns, one of the UK’s leading leased pub companies with a portfolio of more than 4,000 pubs, needed to preserve each pub’s unique character while improving commercial performance. Facing a distributed field workforce and highly manual, paper-based systems for property investment, lease management and partner communication, the company required faster digital processes, mobile access and better enterprise data insight to accelerate operations and boost lease partner engagement.
Punch implemented Appian Cloud’s BPM platform and Appian Records as a central CRM, adding a mobile newsfeed for collaboration and APIs for third‑party integration. The platform streamlined property investment, capital analysis and partner onboarding—investments rose from £38M across 400 pubs to £48.5M across 476 pubs year‑on‑year, documents that once took days can be completed in about 10 minutes, geography-based functionality went live in three months, and automated partner communications reduced costs and sped decision-making.
