Health Management (HM), a subsidiary of MAXIMUS, provides data-driven occupational health services to 400 businesses covering a workforce of 2.2 million. HM relied on phone, email and paper-based workflows for interactions between colleagues, practitioners, clients and employees, creating administrative overhead and failing to meet several clients’ requirements for a digital service.

HM implemented Appian’s low-code BPM, case management and rules capabilities to build “HealthHub,” a single interface for employee registration, online diagnostics, appointment booking, consultations (with iOS speech-to-text dictation), testing, result collation and reporting. The solution automated and streamlined end-to-end processes, increased self-service and visibility, and materially reduced service turnaround times for triage appointments.
